Rotterdam- World Port World City

Dear students,

IBEX is coming to one end for some of us, for others is just starting. Some of us are living the last days in this awesome city that is Rotterdam! This post is directed to all of the students, new and old, to remember or discover what a great city Rotterdam is.

First of all, Rotterdam is the second largest city of the Netherlands. Curiously, the name of the city derives from a dam in the Rotte river. It also has the largest port of Europe and consequently, one of the busiest. It has about 605 000 inhabitants and due to study/work/turism is filled with foreign people. So it is pretty normal to hear other languages besides dutch when visiting it, though it is the official language.

The time zone of Rotterdam is GMT+1. About the climate...Cool summers and mild winters characterize the moderate climate of the city. Its windy, rainy and cloudy days are very common in here. So if you're coming for the first time remember to buy a good umbrella :)

About the nightlife of Rotterdam, you have plenty of things to do! It’s always party time in this city! In the school there are always postcards, posters, etc informing you about the parties. You can find everything there! Since clubs, to bars, casino and cafes, you have lots of things to do.

If you want to know more about the city, don't hesitate to contact us!

Kind regards,
Legacy Group
