The making of the Ibex movie

We as a group must make a "promotion movie" for the Ibex semester. Besides the end result.... we also make a "making of" and keep you informed about the process of making the movie.

Ibex first week exams!

5 weeks of exciting lectures are now in the past (Operation Management, Stock Market Game, Cross Cultural Communication, Marketing Management, and Risk Management) so the 6^th week was the time to check and evaluate our new Knowledge! I mean exam session, of course…

To start with have to notice that we had one week free before examination to take our time to prepare. It was completely enough! Some students even had time to meet their friends from abroad, to have fun visiting the most famous cities in the Netherlands (such as Amsterdam and The Hague) and so on. After some time, realized that is time to study, I decided to take one subject per day to prepare to. This was a little bit hard, because the weather that week was SO fantastic!

During the exam week, we had one exam per day (all in all 4 exams). So schedule was great and not busy at all. Exams itself were not difficult, although in some of them there were a lot of questions, but not enough time to answer them. That is because teachers expect us to write small but more specific answers, when students prefer to write as much as they know! But don’t worry; in general it is largely realizable! If I compare this exam session to my home university then I would say it is much easier here in IBEX!

To conclude, the exam week is not very terrible, a little bit stressed but that is fine. Now wait for our marks and keep one’s fingers crossed!

Ibex project

The IBEX project is a good way to learn how to work in a team with people that have different ways of thinking. If I am asked to describe a project with one word, I would say ‘independence’’. We are split in multiple groups and each group has to make sure they do their job properly (that is what the leaders of each group should take care about) but you can choose mostly how or what you want to do to reach the goal that was set at the beginning of the project.

We are not going to describe literary what we do within a project, because, probably, that will be your task too, so let’s keep is as a surprise for next coming IBEX students!

But in general, we have 3 working groups which are responsible for their own activities. We have a weekly meeting where every group has a small 5 min presentation about what they have done and what they are about to do.Nevertheless, I should mention that we are not working completely independently. Two teachers are our advisors in a project. They follow all our work, help us, and show us the right direction of thinking. But, any way, they try to give us an opportunity to deal with things and tasks on our own.

Of course, working in a project may take a lot of our time, that’s why not to make us bored we try to make it attractive. We create activities, parties and some interesting tasks within a project (for example: making a movie) to make ourselves be interested in this learning process.

If the next coming IBEX group is going to make this kind of project, I can assure that you will get a lot of fun working in a team with international students and discussing business ideas with teachers. Also you will experience things like interviews, negotiations and business meetings. Hope you will enjoy the project and get very good results on it!!!
